New Residents

You must appear in person at the Town Clerk’s Office and fill out a Declaration of Residency. New residents to the State are required to register their vehicles and obtain a New Hampshire driver’s license within 30 days.

You must begin the registration process at the Town Clerk’s Office. It is required to bring in proof of identification (present drivers license) and proof of residency. If you do have an out of state lien holder you must bring in your present registration and the lien holder’s name and address. The Town Clerk types a title application and sends it to the State of New Hampshire Title Bureau. A registration will also be processed at this  time.

If you hold clear title to a vehicle you must submit the original title to the Town Clerk who prepares a title application and registration. Taxes on the vehicle are calculated on the list price of the vehicle when purchased new. State fees are based on the weight of the vehicle.
