Chief E. Neill Cobb has been a Police Officer in the State of New Hampshire for 26 years, beginning as a Patrol Officer with the Newbury Police Department in 1998. Chief Cobb has been serving the Sunapee Police Department for the past 20 years. In August of 2004, Chief Cobb started as a Patrol Officer. He was then promoted to the supervisory rank of Sergeant in 2009 and again promoted in January of 2018 to the rank of Lieutenant. For many years, Chief Cobb served as the second-in-command of the Sunapee Police Department. This allowed him to play an active role in the department's succession planning, policy development, and program implementation, all while enhancing his management skills and demonstrating his proven leadership qualities. From May 13th, 2022 until November 15th, 2022, Chief Cobb served as Interim Chief of Police in addition to his responsibilities as Lieutenant. His commitment to public safety has included service as a Communications Specialist for New London Dispatch, a Patrol Officer for the Town of Bradford, and an EMT for the Sunapee Fire Department. Chief Cobb holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Castleton University, has attended Command Training at Roger Williams University, and holds the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award in addition to numerous commendations from the Sunapee Police Department. He also serves the department as a firearms instructor, traffic accident reconstructionist, and background investigator. Chief Cobb is a 4th generation resident of Sunapee, where he lives with his wife and children. 

Lieutenant Timothy Puchtler was hired by the Sunapee Police Department in 2006 as a full-time officer. Tim was promoted to Sergeant on August 2, 2012 and his additional duties include that of police prosecutor for the department as well as work on criminal investigations. Tim then was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on February 21, 2023. He is also our D.A.R.E.Program Instructor and is certified as a Field Training Officer (FTO). Tim also serves the Sunapee Police Department as our Prosecutor, and spends a significant amount of time prosecuting our cases in court and working alongside defense attorneys. Tim moved to Sunapee from Methuen Massachusetts with his wife and daughter in May of 2003. He graduated from Methuen High School in 1988 and then continued his education attending Northeastern University. In 2022, Tim received the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award in recognition of his completion of the Supervisor Leadership Institute, the Command Leadership Institute, and the Executive Leadership Institute classes offered through FBI-LEEDA. He enjoys coaching basketball and currently is the Sunapee Middle High School's varsity basketball coach.

Sergeant Nicholas Boisvert joined the Sunapee Police Department in October of 2017 as a part-time police patrolman and was sworn-in as a full-time officer in June of 2019. On February 24, 2023, Nick was sworn-in to the rank of Sergeant and will serve as the patrol supervisor. He is also our Law Enforcement Against Drugs (L.E.A.D.) instructor at Sunapee Central Elementary School, Firearms Instructor, and is certified as a Field Training Officer (FTO); preparing our newest officers for the challenges of police work. Nick also serves the Sunapee Police Department as our Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Investigator; working to protect Sunapee's youth from misconduct and abuse online. In 2022, Nick completed the 10-day Command Training Series: First Line Supervisor Course; offered by Roger Williams University Justice System Training and Research Institute. In 2023, Nick attended and completed the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Mental Health Awareness and De-escalation Training for Law Enforcement, which is a 40-hour program that prepares officers to respond to, and actively engage with, individuals who may be in crisis due to a mental health issue. In addition to working in Sunapee, Sergeant Boisvert patrolled Lake Winnipesaukee for the New Hampshire Marine Patrol.  Nick graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Homeland Security. He currently resides in Sunapee.

Officer Joseph Merullo joined the Sunapee Police Department as a part-time officer in 2019 and completed the full-time Police Academy in April, 2020.  He is also a graduate of the Criminal Justice program at New Hampshire Technical Institute. Since June of 2022, Officer Merullo has been certified as a Field Training Officer (FTO) for the Sunapee Police Department. He attended additional trainings that year, including Sexual Assault Response Training in April of 2022, Advanced Roadside Impairment Training in May of 2022, Axon Taser Training in October of 2022, and training to become the Sunapee Police Department's Breaching Instructor through a program established by Sig Sauer. In 2023, Joe attended and completed the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Mental Health Awareness and De-escalation Training for Law Enforcement, which is a 40-hour program that prepares officers to respond to, and actively engage with, individuals who may be in crisis due to a mental health issue. Officer Merullo and his wife currently reside in Sunapee.

Officer Cooper Dion joined the Sunapee Police Department in June of 2023 and graduated the full-time academy at NH Police Standards and Training on November 17, 2023. He is also projected to complete the Criminal Justice program at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in December of 2023. Cooper graduated from Belmont High School in 2022 while also completing a Law Enforcement course at the Laconia Huot center. Cooper currently resides in Sunapee.

Officer Jeffrey Reed has been with Sunapee Police Department since 1991 as a part-time police officer and then appointed as a full-time officer in 1994. Officer Reed was born and raised in the Claremont area where he was a graduate from Stevens High School. Officer Reed currently works part-time for the Sunapee Police Department and full-time in his family's business. Jeff, his wife and two daughters live in Sunapee.

Officer Peter Brigham joined the Sunapee Police Department in June of 2016 as a part-time police officer. He previously worked as a part-time police officer for the Town of Boscawen from 1990 to 2001 and worked 3 seasons with the New Hampshire Marine Patrol. Peter has a B.S. degree from the University of Maine, A.S. degree in Criminal Justice from NHTI and an M.S. degree in Human Services from Springfield College. Peter worked for 24 years as the Director of Youth Services in Laconia and in Hillsboro, and he volunteers his time as a CASA Guardian ad Litem for abused and neglected children. Peter also manages the Sunapee Police Department's Restorative Justice Program. Peter is an avid runner who has completed over 30 marathons, including the Boston Marathon 8 times. He currently resides in Alexandria, NH

Officer Jeremy Soulia joined the Sunapee Police Department in November of 2020 as a part-time officer.  Jeremy attended and graduated from the full-time Police Academy at NH Police Standards and Training on August 20, 2021.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Unity College in Unity, Maine, majoring in conservation law enforcement, with a minor in psychology. On October 17, 2022, Jeremy was sworn in with the Grantham Police Department, where he now works full-time. Jeremy resides in Newport, NH.
 
Officer Nick Henault joined the Sunapee Police Department in July of 2022 as a part-time officer. Nick graduated from the part-time academy at the NH Police Standards and Training on May 21, 2021. Officer Henault was born at New London Hospital and was raised in Newport where he attended and graduated from Newport High School. Nick manages his family owned tire shop in Newport full-time and has been a Volunteer Firefighter in Croydon since November of 2019. Nick currently resides in Newport, NH.
