Update: Water Flowing into Harbor

Today’s rain is causing stormwater to overflow into Lake Sunapee. Our catch basins and cross culverts are doing what they can but are having a hard time keeping up with the amount of rain we are receiving.  Thus, we are seeing extra water running into the lake.

Our Highway Department team is out diverting water and ensuring that culverts are clear so water can run towards the overflow basins and away from the lake. 

The Highway Department team will continue to monitor our roads and culverts throughout the day and into the evening.

Be careful on the roads. The Sunapee Fire Department has responded to several automobile accidents due to hydroplaning.
