Town of Sunapee Harbor Closed

Anticipate the Harbor Being Closed For the Next Three Days

Due to a fuel spillage, the Town of Sunapee's Harbor will be closed for the next three days. This spillage occurred due to fuel overflowing from a boat parked in the harbor. The Sunapee Fire Department, along with the Newbury Fire Department and New Hampshire DES, has contained the spill to the Harbor. Clean Harbors will be working day and night to skim fuel from the top of the water as well as clean boats and other harbor infrastructure. The Harbor will be reopened once the area has been completely decontaminated and approved by New Hampshire DES. This incident poses no danger to the public or town water supply and the Harbor is estimated to be open by Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
