Town Of Sunapee Fire Department Press Release

Structure Fire-November 19, 2023
Sunapee Fire Department
On Sunday, November 19, at 18:28, Sunapee Fire, as well as our 1st Alarm Assignment, including mutual aid from New London Fire, Newport Fire, and Newbury Fire, were called to Lake Ave for a possible structure fire. Sunapee Engine 2 arrived on the scene at 18:33 and found fire showing from the residence's first floor. Engine 2’s crew deployed a hose line and engaged in an aggressive interior attack. At the same time, Engine 2’s crew also conducted a search of the residence.

Sunapee Fire was able to contain the fire mainly to the room of origin. However, the residence did sustain severe smoke and water damage. All occupants except for one dog were able to make it out of the residence safely.

Units from Sunapee Fire, New London Fire, and Newport Fire remained on the scene until 21:00. Sunapee Fire would like to thank our mutual aid companies for assisting us on the scene and Newbury Fire for station coverage during the incident. We would also like to thank the Sunapee Police Department and New London Police Department for assisting with traffic control.
