TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE NOTIFICATION

Location:  Perkins Pond Road (from the boat launch northwest to the first intersection with North Shore Road)
Date: Tuesday, August 9TH, through Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022 Time: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Perkins Pond Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic beginning at the Perkins Pond Boat Launch and ending at the intersection of North Shore Road and Perkins Pond Road beginning on August 9, 2022 and ending on August 23, 2022.  The temporary closure will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The temporary closure is necessary for the Highway Department to complete road improvements on a 200-foot+/- section of Perkins Pond Road that falls between the boat launch and North Shore Road. The goal of the improvements is to begin mitigating the muddy road conditions that are experienced in this section of the road during the spring thaw, also known as “mud season”.
During the temporary closure, no through traffic will be permitted. All through traffic will be diverted via the northwest end of Perkins Pond Road through Croydon and back onto Ryder Corner Road.  Perkins Pond Road will re-open to traffic at approximately 4:00PM of each day of the temporary closure.
In the event that severe weather in encountered during the scheduled closure dates, the closure may be extended to allow the Highway Department the necessary time to complete the project.
If you have any concerns during the scheduled road closure, please contact Michael Martell, Highway Foreman, at (603)558-1904.
