Stagecoach Road Project Update

Stagecoach Road Project Update

The Stagecoach Road drainage construction project that is located between Route 103B and Stagecoach Lane is complete.  As you may be aware, the Highway crew ended up discovering many unknown items and/or experienced untimely issues (i.e. rain and equipment failure) as we constructed the project, and some of these items resulted with project delays.

The purpose of the project was to mitigate the groundwater that had been flowing through the surface of the road for years, to install a drainage trunk line with catch basins to manage surface water (rain water) along the west side of the road, to extend the structural gravel base on the east side of the road, and we also ended up stabilizing the embankment that is located on the west side of the road.  All of this work was completed in preparation for rehabilitating and repaving the road during the second week of September.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience, understanding and cooperation as we completed the project, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that it may have caused anyone.  The road closure and detour sign package will be removed this afternoon, and Stagecoach Road will be open to two-way traffic later today.  There is still a couple of minor items that remain to be completed on this section of road, and there are still a handful of other sections of Stagecoach Road that need to be repaired during the remainder of the summer in preparation for paving.  One lane of traffic will be maintained during future construction on Stagecoach Road.  Thank you and please do not hesitate to contact me in my office at (603)763-5060 ext. 11 if you have any questions.
