Mud Season Has Arrived

Drive Carefully
Mud Season

Good Afternoon, Sunapee,

Many of you are finding our gravel roads difficult to navigate. We understand and appreciate that this can be frustrating.  Please know that we are doing the best that we can to keep up with the ever changing weather conditions and all that that means for our roads.

Our gravel roads began to thaw last week. With yesterday's 70-degree temperatures, and today's rain, many of our gravel roads have become significantly rutted and muddy.  Our Highway Department has been working diligently on our thawing gravel roads for the past week, hauling in 100s of tons of crushed stone to fill in the ruts and potholes.

The Sunapee Police and Fire Departments are also working with the Highway Department to ensure the safety and security of Sunapee residents!

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding during this "mud season."
