ASSESSING DEPARTMENT NEWS

-Attention to Sunapee Property Owners-
According to the NH State Constitution (Part 2 Article 6) Municipalities must value anew at least once every 5 years. The Town of Sunapee Revaluation is scheduled for 2020 without reprieve from the
Governor as it relates to Covid-19.
Our office has begun the task of reviewing sales that have occurred over the last 24 months, if you have purchased a property in that timeframe I will be visiting it from the exterior only to verify measurements and condition; unless requested not to, or if the property is posted “no trespass”. I suggest you review your property record card online to verify that the information we have on record is accurate. You can view the information at https://www.axisgis.com/Tri_TownNH/Default.aspx. Please notify us by phone @ 763-2212 or email @ assessingclerk@town.sunapee.nh.us if you see discrepancies.
We are continually adding information to the Assessing Department’s website in order to answer questions you may have regarding the upcoming valuation, you can find FAQ’s at
Over the last four years, if your property was visited for a building permit, or a change in value occurred due to a correction of property data, you were not reassessed- the changes occurred based on 2015
revaluation cost and market rates. The valuation for 2020 will be based on market rates acquired over the last 24 months.
Overall (all property) Median Assessed Value to Sale Price are as follows:
*   2018-90.8%* 2019-89.7% * 1/2020-4/15/2020=87.6% *
We will keep you updated as to the progress of the Statistical Update as we move forward. Thank you for your cooperation, enjoy the summer and stay safe.
