APRIL WINTER STORM

A winter storm event is forecast for our region beginning late this evening, lasting through Friday and ending Saturday morning.  The snow is going to be heavy and wet as the temperatures will hover at or above freezing.  Current forecasts suggest that we may receive 4”-8” but that total accumulations will be elevation dependent.  The Highway Department is fully staffed and is prepared for this storm.  However, winter road maintenance activities will likely take longer than normal due to the soft conditions that we’ve observed on the shoulders on our paved roads, and due to the soft conditions we’ve observed on many of our gravel roads.  We thank you in advance for your patience during this storm event, and do not hesitate to contact Scott Hazelton, Highway Director or Michael Martell, Highway Foreman at 763-5060 if you have any questions.  Please leave a message if were not in the office to answer your call as all messages are transferred to our cell phones immediately.  Thank You.
