Antique Engines

Both the Department and some members of the Department privately own and maintain antique equipment as personal hobbies. These antiques you see are taken out for antique shows, parades and rallies.

The 1926 Model A Ford is still in running condition and often times drives in parades.  It is housed at the Georges Mills Station. 

 


This is believed to be the original piece of mechanized equipment purchased by the Sunapee Fire Department according to the published History of the Sunapee Fire Department.

The 1824 handtub was purchased used from the Newport Fire Department in 1873 for $50. The Tub is mounted on a flatbed utility trailer. The Tub appears in a few parades a year and has been the recipient of numerous awards for the oldest piece of apparatus.

Firefighter and former Industrial Arts Teacher  John Gosselin and his class at Sunapee Middle-High School took on the project of building a trailer for the Handtub and Hose Reel to be mounted on so it can be transported to and displayed in parades.

This is the original apparatus for the Georges Mills area. It is a Torrent Hose Reel. The exact date is unknown but estimated to be the late 1800s.
