Absentee Ballots for the State General Election are available
Absentee Ballots for the State General Election are available at the Sunapee Town Clerk’s Office.
Please note below the eligibility for absentee voting.

ABSENTEE VOTING – RSA 657:1

Eligibility

Absence, Religious Observance, and Disability Absentee Voting. Any person who is absent on the day of any state election from the city, town, or unincorporated place in which he or she is registered to vote or who cannot appear in public on any election day because of his or her observance of a religious commitment or who is unable to vote there in person by reason of physical disability may vote at such elections as provided in this chapter. A person who is unable to appear at any time during polling hours at his or her polling place because of an employment obligation shall be considered absent for purposes of this chapter. For the purposes of this section, the term “employment” shall include the care of children and infirm adults, with or without compensation.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS Requests for
Request the absentee ballot application from the clerk or you may download the application; or, if you wish, you may submit a request in writing which should include all the information that is required on the application. Don’t forget your name, voting address, mailing address and your signature.
 An application for an absentee ballot may be transmitted by facsimile to a town or city clerk.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS – Return of
Clerks may accept completed absentee ballots submitted in person by the voter until 5:00 p.m. the day before an election. A voter's absentee ballot may also be returned in person by the voter's parent, spouse, sibling or child to the town clerk. The person returning the absentee ballot shall complete a form and provide proper ID before the clerk will accept the ballot.  Also, absentee ballots will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on election day if received through the mail or at the polls by the voter's parent, spouse, sibling or child.
NEVER leave a completed absentee ballot in a box, on a desk, or slipped through the clerk's window or door.
A marked absentee ballot may NOT be transmitted by facsimile to a town or city clerk.
