The excitement is building for the upcoming events to celebrate Sunapee's Sestercentennial. We want to thank Bar Harbor Bank for their generous donation of $500 to help offset the cost of some of the events being planned. We also want to thank Weathercheck, LLC for banner sponsorships. They snuck in just under the wire but missed the last round of acknowledgements.
The Sestercentennial Committee will be meeting tonight at 7pm in the Safety Services Building for planning, the public is welcome to attend or view by live stream through the town website.
Saturday night from 6-8 pm will be the first of the many events planned. Come and have some light snacks, refreshments, see your friends & neighbors, and have a chance to talk with Sestercentennial Committee members to learn more about the celebration at one of five locations in town. For a full list of locations please click here to go to our calendar.
Registrations are being taken for participation in the parade scheduled for Saturday August 18. In addition to the Kearsarge Community Band, Leapin' Lena, police & fire apparatus, antique vehicles, and kids on bikes we invite town businesses, organizations, sports teams, neighborhood associations, social groups and families to register and ride/march/pedal/have a float in the parade. The registration packet is attached, please complete and send it in soon.
Commemorative license plates, window decals and limited edition- custom designed and crafted by Sunapee Graniteworks- granite arrowheads are on sale on the store on the 250 website, as well as the Police Department, Town Clerk & Abbott Library.
Donors to help offset costs are still welcome, please contact the Committee by email or phone at 603-763-2212.
