PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR THE IMPENDING WINTER STORM
Dear Residents of the Town of Sunapee,
There is a severe snow storm forecast to begin late this evening that will end sometime late Tuesday March 13th. Snow accumulation is estimated to be between 8”-14”, and will likely be very wet and heavy snow. The Highway Department will plow and treat all Town’s roads during the storm, and will also plow and treat the Sherburne Gym parking lot regularly throughout the day for the Town resident’s that plan to vote.
The majority of our road shoulders and gravel roads continue to be very soft, and that this in conjunction with the projected storm intensity may result with increased plow route times exceeding 3 ½ hours per route. We ask that you give all plow drivers plenty of room to do their job if you have to travel during the storm, and that you plan ahead and get all necessary supplies prior to the start of the storm (i.e. food, batteries, gas). Storm cleanup operations will likely extend through Wednesday afternoon. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this storm event. If you have any questions, contact either Scott Hazelton, Highway Director or Kevin Callanan, Highway Foreman at 603-763-5060.
