Between 8:30 pm on October 29 and 5:00 am on October 30 the Sunapee Fire Department responded to 12 calls for assistance for trees and wires down in roadways, yards and on vehicles. 10 calls were in Sunapee and 2 were requests for assistance from our neighbors in Croydon and New London.
None of the calls resulted in injuries to residents or members of the Department, though there was some minor damage sustained to private properties. The Fire Department and our public safety partners on the Sunapee Police and Public Works Departments assisted in marking and protecting scenes for repair.
Residents and property owners are reminded that repairs are still on-going by utility crews and to please give them space and time to safely and efficiently to do their jobs. The same holds true for DPW crews working on road repairs.
Firefighters and EMTs will be out this evening checking on residents who still have not had their electricty restored. Anyone with needs related to the outage can contact the Department at 763-5770 or through New London Dispatch at 526-2626.
If a downed utility line or dangerous road condition is observed you should stay away and immediately report the condition by calling 911 or Dispatch at 526-2626.
