Slideshow Tours of Lake Sunapee Scenic Byway to be Held in October
LAKE SUNAPEE REGION – The Lake Sunapee Byway Committee will offer a series of slideshow presentations around the region in October, giving a virtual tour of the Lake Sunapee Scenic Byway. The Lake Sunapee Scenic Byway is a driving route around Lake Sunapee, connecting the towns of New London, Newbury, and Sunapee. Routes 11, 103, and 103B in these towns are already designated as a State Scenic Byway for its outstanding scenic, cultural, historical, natural, and recreational values. The Lake Sunapee Byway Committee is working to designate Route 103A and a loop through New London on Newport Road, Main Street, and King Hill Road as part of the Byway, so that the centers of the three towns will be included. The purpose of the slideshow is to inform the public of the resources
along the Byway and to spark discussion about potential future projects or improvements on the Byway.
Public presentations have been scheduled in each of the three towns on Lake Sunapee:
Sunapee – October 15, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Sunapee Town Offices
New London – Monday October 19, 2009 at 6:30 PM at the New London Town Offices
Newbury – Wednesday October 21, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Newbury Town Offices
The public is welcome to attend any of these presentations. The slideshow presentations are part of a Byway planning project funded by the Federal Highway Administration through the National Scenic Byways Program.
